I love this business because you never stop learning, and there are always opportunities to grow.  As a new Consultant, I strongly urge you to start scheduling and holding your first appointments as soon as you receive your Starter Kit, because, what you may lack in experience you make up for in enthusiasm!  Although you’ll have the opportunity to take advantage of continued education in your Mary Kay Career, ACTIVITY will provide your greatest sense of learning.  Mary Kay herself says, “You can do everything right with the wrong attitude and fail, but you can do everything wrong with the RIGHT ATTITUDE and SUCCEED beyond your DREAMS!”
 
 

 
The first few weeks in your Mary Kay career will really set the pace for your future.  The following are important elements that require your attention and consideration.
 
1.  MAKE A LIST OF 50 NAMES
         Choose 50 people you would like to have in your client base.  Highlight the 10 special ones you would like on your personal team.
 
2.  USE YOUR MARY KAY PRODUCTS HEAD-TO-TOE
         Set up your vanity, shower, and cosmetic drawer with your collection of personal use products.  This is not a place to be stingy!!  You will sell what you know.
 
3.  INVENTORY DECISION
        The decision you make about merchandising your business will be one of the most important decisions you will make.  If you treat this like a business, it will pay off like a business!  You are not creating debt, you are making an investment!  Although there is no requirement, remember that you can’t sell what you do not have!  In your Starter Kit, you will find 4 audio tapes.  I would like you to listen to tape #3 as soon as possible, as it is time-sensitive.  Please call me so that we can discuss your options.  Mary Kay is a Smart Choice!

4.  BOOK YOUR FIRST 10 APPOINTMENTS – BEFORE YOU START!
  Do these first 10 bookings before you hold your first appointment.  This is KEY!  Decide your first goals towards a great beginning – then press forward to do the Perfect Start or Power Start.

5.  ATTEND WEEKLY MEETINGS & TRAINING REGULARLY!!
         If I could make one thing mandatory in this business (and I can’t), it would be Weekly Success Meetings!  Make a commitment to be there every week!  If you’ve had a good week, the meeting needs you; if you’ve had a bad week, you need the meeting!  Your future depends on it!
